Families with Kids
Overview

Children are not little adults. They have their own unique view of the world which is very different from the world adults see. While reassurance and guidance with words is important to children, watching their parents successfully cope with the deployment experience will help them develop confidence. This program is designed to help you help your kids. Take an assessment to get feedback on how you are doing, check out the videos of others who are dealing with family concerns, read the short articles and FAQs or explore the e-library for in-depth information.

Assessment

Surveys suggest that one-third of military children with a parent deployed to a war zone are at high risk for psychological problems. Knowing about the inevitable challenges that deployments create can reduce a family's emotional strain.

The Families with Kids Assessment, and each of the related assessments below, takes about five minutes to complete; recommendations follow based on your results.
