Sleep Texting peer about missions I was on....

I recently found out that I sleep-text one of my peers about the missions that I was on and what was happening to me.  It was like I was trying to talk to them, to get them to help me, me to help them... it varied... and they were telling me to wake up and I was at home in my bed... eventually I would either stop texting after someone "died" or they would call me.  I never remembered any of it.... but I was shown saved texts.  They say it might be PTSD, but I disagree.....

Anyone ever heard of or experienced this before?

First, let me say I have not experienced this myself.

I am a clinical social worker and work with combat veterans. Your sleep-texts are a perfectly normal reaction to your brain's memories of your experiences down range.

It could be a sign/symptom of PTSD, but only if combined with other things, and only if all of these things are impacting your functioning in different areas of your life. If you feel that there may be other symptoms, please be sure to see a provider on post, or use the resources on this website.

With gratitude for your service, Bb
